Bharat Raj is an Indian bodybuilder, celebrity lifestyle coach and actor. He is an international men’s physique athlete who earned the prestigious International Federation of Bodybuilding and Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro card in 2019. He runs the fitness center Bratzlife Fitness Studio.

Bharat Raj was born on Friday, October 26, 1990, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (33 years old as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Scorpio. He completed his primary education from SBOA School and Junior College, Chennai.

Thereafter, he attended Hindu High School, Chennai and then St. Joseph’s Engineering College, Chennai. He has been fond of sports since he was a child and became a member of the national basketball team in 2005. In 2006, he became a member of the Tamil Naidu under-17 basketball team.

A sports accident in 2007 forced Bharat Raj to quit basketball and choose bodybuilding as an outlet for his energy. Talking about the same in an interview, he said,
I have always loved sports. After the accident, I was distraught. I had to get back in shape and bodybuilding was the best option. It strengthened the ankle I injured in the accident and pushed my fitness enthusiasm through the roof. “
Bharat Raj started his career by competing in bodybuilding and men’s physique competitions. In 2009, he was involved in a traffic accident, and during his first year at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, he was involved in a bicycle accident that resulted in a broken collarbone. Thereafter, an 8cm plate was inserted next to his left collarbone. Even though his weight training journey seemed to be over, he wasn’t giving up. He recovered and competed within three weeks.

At the age of 19, he finished among the top four in the Mr. Chennai event in 2009. After this, he started receiving invitations to walk the ramp as a model. As a model, he has walked for fashion brands Anjalee And Arjun Kapoor and House Of Chase clothing store in Chennai.

In addition to modeling, he also started working as a fitness instructor. From 2013 to 2014, he worked as a freelance fitness instructor. In 2014, he established The Body Studio, a gym in Besant Nagar, Chennai. He specializes in providing cross-circuit training. Soon, he became a famous celebrity coach with clients including actors Vikram, R. Sarathkumar, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Bindu Madhavi, Nivetha Pethuraj, Vishal and S. Shankar. Bharat trained Vikram in a special weight loss and weight gain routine for the Tamil film I (2015). Bharat came into the limelight after finishing second runner-up at the Provogue MensXP Mr. India World 2014.

Early in his career, he was sponsored by Evolution Sports Nutrition (ESN). Another milestone achieved in his career was that in 2015, he won the Musclemania India Model Universe title and the third position in the Fitness Universe category. He trained for the match under the guidance of Saveen, the head coach of FITT Club in Bangalore.

Thereafter, he competed in various men’s physique competitions. In 2016, he won the title of Fitfactor Physique Model Champion. Thereafter, he participated in the IBBF Mr. South India 2016 and won the title of Mr. Male Physique South India 2016. He represented India in the 2016 Arnold Classic Asia in Hong Kong, where he finished eighth and participated in the 2017 Wawan Classic. In 2019, he received the prestigious International Federation of Bodybuilding and Bodybuilding (IFBB) Pro Card, which earned him tickets to professional shows around the world including the IFBB Professional Bodybuilding Competition Mr. Olympia. He won the professional card among approximately more than 1000 participants from 42 countries. He is the first person from Tamil Nadu to get the card and the fourth person from India to get it.
