Big Brother Star ‘Nearly Died’ After ‘Horrific’ Reaction to Fake Ozempic: ‘I Had Three Bags of Vomit by My Bedside'

Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace almost died after taking what is suspected to be fake Ozempic.

Former Big Brother UK star, who appeared in season 7, spoke with Closer magazine and revealed that she had gained about 28 lbs. last year after the death of her best friend, which left her in a “dark place”. Struggling with his weight, the 46-year-old turned to the black market to buy Ozempic.

Ozempic is a prescription drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug – taken once a week by injection into the thigh, abdomen or arm – is the brand name for semaglutide, which works in the brain to make you feel full. The drug has gained popularity over the past few years as many people turn to it for weight loss when it is not medically necessary.

Due to the increase in demand, the drugs were previously affected by drug shortages across the country. But before pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk was able to ramp up production, many adulterated and compounded versions of the injection appeared on the market, causing health consequences in people who tried it.

“I’m not going to lie and I’m not proud, but I bought Ozempic injections on the black market,” Horgan-Wallace told the outlet. “I must have had a dodgy streak because my body reacted so badly.”

“For three days I thought I was going to die,” she said. “I was in my bed, woke up vomiting, had diarrhea and went back to sleep. At one point I had three bags of vomit by my bed. Frighteningly, I started losing my vision, my eyes were blurry, and I couldn’t even see my phone. I had no idea what was going to happen to me.”

Although her health was deteriorating, Horgan-Wallace admitted she was “too embarrassed” to seek medical attention.

“I felt guilty because I was wasting NHS funds when I did this to myself,” she said.

The TV personality is now urging others to rely only on prescriptions from their healthcare professionals, rather than buying counterfeit versions of the drug.

“My message is don’t do it,” Horgan-Wallace told the paper. “I almost died because of it… Your life is not worth losing instead of losing weight. Don’t worry about your health and don’t buy things on the black market because you don’t know what’s in them.”

“It’s the worst health problem I’ve ever been through and I’ll never do it again.”
