Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt and Mica von Turkovich Are Married and Expecting First Child: ‘Thankful for Our Baby’

Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt surprised fans with two big announcements!

Last week, the 33-year-old singer of the song “Boyfriend” revealed that he is officially a husband and future father! Schmidt and his new bride Mica von Turkovich shared the news in a joint post on Instagram.

“Thank you for my child ♥️,” he captioned the couple’s black-and-white social media post on their wedding day. In the photo, the newlyweds were sitting next to each other on a sofa outdoors, with flower arrangements around the furniture.

In a birthday post dated Nov. 2, the boy band member hinted that the two have already said “I do.”

“Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes 🙂 For anyone wondering I’m 33 years old, although apparently I still look like I’m 23. Life is good! I am so grateful to all of you, especially my beautiful wife @mica_chu,” he captioned the video on Instagram.

As for the pregnancy announcement, the couple kept it simple and sweet.

“We’re thankful for our baby 🤍,” Schmidt captioned another Instagram post, set to The Carpenters’ “They Long To Be (Near You).” This time he showed a video of von Turkovich standing in a sunny field with a cropped long-sleeve T-shirt — perfect for showing off his growing belly.

Schmidt and von Turkovich met in 2012 and began their relationship in March 2015.

In June 2022, the “Confetti Falling” singer popped the question at Radio City Music Hall — the place they first met. The other members of Big Time Rush and their loved ones were present for the special moment.

PEOPLE has obtained exclusive photos of the proposal, which show Schmidt on his knee placing the ring on the hand of a surprised von Turkovich.

Afterward, she shared some behind-the-scenes photos from their big day on the Instagram carousel.

“A few more sweet moments from this sweet day… Kendall promised me a long time ago that he wouldn’t propose to me on stage. He broke his promise a bit, but I like this promise better,” she wrote. “On stage, but only in front of some friends and my sister @gabrielavt. Where we met 10 years ago. Love you forever @kendallschmidt 💗.”
