Bindi and Robert Irwin Honor Their Father on Steve Irwin Day: ‘One Man Who Changed the World Forever’

Steve Irwin is being honored by his children, Bindi and Robert.

The brother-sister duo marked Steve Irwin Day with a sweet tribute to their late father, who died in 2006 aged 44 after being stung by a stingray while filming a documentary off the coast of Australia.

According to the Australia Zoo website, the annual event on November 15 recognizes Irwin’s “passion for wildlife and commitment to conservation.”

To honor her father on the special day, Bindi (25) shared a memory on Instagram of her gently resting her head on his shoulder.

“To the world he will be remembered as the greatest warrior for wildlife. To our family he will be remembered as our world,” Bindi wrote in the caption.

The comments section was filled with heartfelt messages from fans.

“The world loved him and the world loves your beautiful family! Thank you for doing what you do every day. He’s proud of you – absolutely no doubt about it,” wrote one of Bindi’s followers. Another comment read: “I honestly believe if he was around the world would be a much better place. Nature’s strongest voice is sorely missed.”

“It’s a day when people around the world come together to raise money for Wildlife Warriors to help continue Steve’s work to conserve and preserve wildlife and wild places,” the organization’s website added.
