The photo was taken in 2016 to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme in World War I.

The optical illusion has surprised people as it looks like Kate is floating in the air.

But not everything is what it seems.

While it may leave you scratching your head wondering what’s going on, there’s a simple reason why the Duchess of Cambridge looks like she’s levitating.

David Cameron’s feet placed in front of hers distort perspective.

It looks like Kate is floating above, when in fact she’s just walking behind them.

The lack of shadow in the photo also contributes to the effect, Metro reports.

So the photo doesn’t seem to be proof of a miracle, but it still leaves you confused.

An optical illusion of the Queen was also released to celebrate her platinum jubilee.

The illusion asks you to look at a black and white photo of the queen for one minute.

When you look away, it looks like the queen is right in front of you in full color.
