We don’t know what will happen when Katie and Jimmy reunite at the end of the movie, but we hope he introduces her to the magical side of skating and lets her see beyond spandex.

After Katie confessed her dark secret to Jimmy, they approached and kissed. You could tell they were driven by romantic energy, even though she only talked about how her parents drove her to ice skating classes, causing her siblings to blame her for their deaths and treat them like she treated her like a slave.
While it’s weird for a story like this to be considered romantic, it just shows how perfect Jimmy and Katie are for each other. They feel each other’s pain and are attracted to each other no matter what they talk about!
“My sister told all her friends that I was in prison for armed robbery.”
When Katie and Jimmy date, they each talk about how miserable their lives are. After Jimmy revealed he got 6 protein shakes and a Men’s Health subscription for his birthday, Katie told him some family facts from her childhood. .
As it turns out, Fairchild has always been a catch. Before she started cheating to win professional skating competitions, Fairchild told Katie’s friends that she was serving time in prison for armed robbery, which resulted in no one attending. Katie’s birthday party. Classic Fairchild.

To be fair, that’s not Katie’s famous quote, even though it comes from herself. When she asked Jimmy to pour sweet cream over his burns, it was only Fairchild telling her to. Context is what makes it so interesting. Katie’s tone wasn’t convincing at all, and she forced herself to make such a brazen suggestion. And Jimmy, who was training with Chaz and was on the phone looking sexy, wasn’t worried at all.

Again, it’s not what Katie says that makes her quote funny, it’s how she says it. That’s what she told Chaz after she showed up at an Anonymous meeting about sex addicts, and Chaz told her he didn’t know she was an addict. Unfortunately, Chazz is too distracted by her addiction to see this clearly and thinks that she is actually an addict too.

Jimmy and Katie, aka the perfect couple, at one point fell apart as Stranz and Fairchild gained the upper hand. But Chaz and Jimmy had a happy ending after they successfully executed Iron Lotus and won the race. After they kiss again, Katie tells Jimmy that he’s been practicing. He tells her that Chaz taught him something.
Does that mean he practiced kissing with Chaz? Either way, we love that line because it foreshadows the successful relationship we thought Jimmy and Katie would share after the movie.

This is Katie van Waldenberg’s best quote. After years of letting her siblings bully her and make her feel guilty about their parents’ deaths, she finally came forward and told them what happened.
