Lynn Ban was remembered for her Bling Empire: New York fellow actors.
Ban died aged 52 on Monday, January 20, after revealing she had undergone brain surgery following a skiing accident on Christmas Eve. The stars of the Netflix series reacted to the devastating news, and Nam Laks told PEOPLE that she will miss Ban.
“Lynn is the ultimate cool, authentic fashion queen. She radiated life, confidence, individuality and undeniable badass energy,” her statement read. “Every time we met, she exuded a sincere ‘Be yourself!’ an atmosphere that was not only inspiring – but also truly unique.”
“Her absence will be deeply felt,” continues Laks. “May you find eternal peace, Lynn 🕊️🤍🙏🏻.”
Laks also reposted a photo of Ban and her son Sebastian from her post on her Instagram Stories.

Dorothy Wang mourned the loss of the jewelry designer in the comments of Sebastian’s post.
“Sebastian, we’ve never met, but the way your mom lit up every time she talked about you – I’ll never forget,” she wrote. “I will not forget so many wonderful things about your mother. she was real mean, but at the same time the kindest ray of light. yes, she loved her fashion and her looks, but what was truly most important to her was always you and your father, her tribe 🤍 we are all heartbroken 💔”
She later took to her Instagram Stories to explain that she would be moving away from the uplifting “morning mantra” she usually shares with her followers.
“I know most of you are used to my morning mantra, but it’s been really hard trying to think of something happy or positive to share today,” she said. “rip lynn 💔”

Costar Blake Abbie also reacted, sharing several photos of Ban on his Instagram Stories. One showed her smiling while eating a hot dog, while another captured her sipping a matcha latte in a coffee shop, and a third showed her posing with Abbie for a selfie.

Christine Chiu, from the Los Angeles feature Bling Empire franchise, also paid tribute to Ban in a comment on Sebastian’s post.
“I am so sorry for your loss 🙏 Lynn led an inspiring and amazing life and was an extraordinary human being… mom, wife, artist, boss, queen,” it read. “May her love and light live forever 🙏❤️🕊️.”

Bana’s teenage son Sebastian shared the news of her death on Wednesday, January 22, remembering his mum as “the funniest and coolest mum”.
“My mom passed away on Monday,” he wrote, sharing a selection of family photos. “I know she wanted to share her journey after the accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post to share the news with the people who supported her.”
“Many of you have followed my mom but never had the chance to meet her or meet her in person. I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you who my mom really was,” he continued. “She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me and someone who cares for everyone.”
Sebastian added: “She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during the recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know.”
“Although she may be gone now, I will do everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten and that her life is celebrated the way it deserves,” Sebastian concluded. “As a final message to my mom, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and ever [with] something my mom always told me ‘I love you more than life itself’.”
Celebrities outside of Ban’s stars also chimed in with comments to express their condolences.
Rihanna said: “2025 is cracking me up right now! This is too much!!! Lynn, you will always be our fairy! I love you forever and always! I can’t believe I’m writing this in the comments section! 😢 💔 Thank you for all the joy you brought us!”
Kali Uchis also commented: “My deepest condolences to you and your family, your mom looks at you with so much love, pride and joy. May her soul rest in peace knowing how much you love her too. Even though we are all strangers we all admired your mom and we will always keep you in our best wishes.”
“Heartbreaking news. What a woman! Lynn FOREVER. Sending so much love to all her family,” model and actress Adwoa Aboah also wrote.
