News about Bobby Kelton
“You are going to suffer a loss until you are 50 years old. I have definitely lost some close friends, some of them in the comedy community. Since they are my age, it always comes as a shock. The passing of George Schumer, my best friend since kindergarten on Long Island, hit me hardest. Three years ago he had a heart attack and died. I just talked to him the night before. Other than my grandparents, it was really the first time something terrible had happened to someone so close to me.
After that, you start to worry that you won’t be able to talk to everyone you talk to anymore. But today I talk to George while I run.
People often attribute the expression “He or she must have made this happen” to the deceased. Ironically, my grandfather, whose name was George, loved to fish. My 92 year old mother recently visited me in Florida and caught nine fish. Both my mother and I said, “George must have made it happen.”
Return to Long Island George. We had a passion for the San Francisco Giants, and amazingly, just before his heart attack, he emailed me, “If they ever win a World Series, I’ll die happy.” You have to understand that we’ve been waiting our whole lives for the Giants to make it big, and two years after George died, they did!
George, who lived near San Francisco, requested the cremation. Due to the play he was supposed to perform, I was unable to attend the service. But when I went to the West Coast a few months later, I asked George’s ex-wife to take me to the tree where he had scattered the ashes near his Richmond home. A baseball card with a picture of me in a Giants uniform that I wear as a business card was buried in a hole I made in the ground near his cremated remains.
After that I had a wonderful feeling. In years to come, I wonder if that map will still be buried there. Because Mr Sharp sought to assist the Prime Minister with a personal financial matter, the report concluded that “there is a risk that Mr Sharp will be perceived as having been recommended for appointment” and/or “influencing the former Prime Minister for his recommendation”. informing him of his request before he endured it.”
Although the meeting between Case and Blyth was delayed, the report said that even though his involvement in Johnson’s personal finances was “very limited”, it should have been disclosed.
