Boomer Esiason was born on April 17, 1961 in East Islip, New York. He is currently 62 years old and a citizen of the United States. Similarly, according to his date of birth, he is an Aries.
Moving on to his family, he was born to Norman Esiason and Irene Esiason. His father was of Norwegian and Swedish descent and a veteran of the First World War. Similarly, Irene, his mother, was a singer, dancer and pianist.
In addition, Boomer has two sisters, Susan Esiason and Robin Esiason. As a child he loved football, basketball and baseball. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals out of college and began his professional career at Maryland. He was selected in the second round as the 38th pick in the 1984 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut against the Houston Oilers.
He was instrumental in his team’s 13-3 win over Houston. He led the club to their second Super Bowl appearance three years later, but they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers. He was named NFL MVP in 1988 and was selected to the Pro Bowl during his tenure with the Bengals.
In 1993, he was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a third-round pick. He suffered a serious concussion during the 1995 season. He will not be able to return to action until November 19. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals as a free agent in 1996. He considered retiring the following season, but decided to stay with the Bengals for one more season. Esiason has led the Cincinnati Bengals to four wins in five games. He had four games with at least 30 points.
While still playing, Esiason worked as a color analyst for USA Network’s biennial broadcast. He has appeared in various television shows and films, including Blue Bloods, Game Plan, Spin City and Miss America. He also worked for the ABC as a color commentator. From 2012 to 2015, Esiason presented the best Super Bowl commercials for the fourth year in a row. Esiason won several trophies during his NFL career and is considered the 25th best running back of all time.
