The young man was rushed to the hospital around noon before he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Tommie-Lee’s heartbroken grandmother has since claimed he was killed in an attempted “TikTok Challenge”.

A devastated Tina Burns said Wednesday that the madness had already killed two teenage girls.

Tina said: “He died right after a sleepover at a friend’s house. The boys tried out the TikTok craze.

“Tommie-lee immediately went into cardiac arrest and died right then and there.

“The hospital did everything to try to bring him back, but nothing worked. He went.

“He had a heart of gold just like his dad. Our family is completely devastated.”

Tommie’s mum Sherri said the trend cost her her son’s life – as she pleads with parents not to let their children use the social media app.

She posted on Facebook: “This cost my son his life because he tried something other kids do.

“Please talk to your children about the consequences of this.

“Why anyone would even attempt this is beyond me! It’s so dangerous!”

The Lancaster schoolboy was described as “the life and soul of every room”.

One of his teaching assistants, Tina, has since alerted other parents to the trend.

Tina said: “We don’t want other kids to follow TikTok or be on social media.

“In fact, we want to abolish TikTok and prevent children under 16 from accessing social media.

“This breaks us all, but we want to help save other children’s lives and make families aware to protect their children.”

Lancashire Police have launched an investigation and are treating Tommie’s death as unexplained.

A spokesman for the police force said: “We were called by emergency services at 12.04pm on Saturday 2nd March to an address in Greenset Close, Lancaster, to reports of a sudden death.

“Emergency services arrived at the address and found an 11-year-old boy unresponsive.

“Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the coroner has been informed.

“The police investigation is ongoing, and the boy’s family is being supported by police officers.

“Our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly sad time.

“They are asking if anyone has any information to contact the police.”
