The boy, 15, was stabbed in a traffic park in daylight while police officers run an emergency probe.

West Midlands police were invited to Turnberry Park, Great Barr, Birmingham, shortly after 4 pm.

Officers found a 15-year-old boy with serious injuries near the Turnberry Road park, opposite Calshot elementary school.

He hurried to the hospital, where he remained, the emergency room.

The park is sealed and the photos from the scene show an underpass covered with a police ribbon.

Force spokesman said: “We are invited to Turnberry Park, outside Turnberry Road, Great Barr, shortly after 4 pm today (Mon) after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and we would ask witnesses or people with information that they contact us via the live chat on our website or call to number 101 quoting Diary No. 3629 of March 17.

“Alternatively, anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”

A member of a friend of Turnberry Park said: “We are deeply concerned about the incident that happened in the park today.

“We have talked to sports organizations about bringing activities to the park, because we believe that a positive community engagement can help create a safer environment.

“We will continue to explore the ways of improving security in the park.”
