Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga Reunite at Maestro Premiere, 5 Years After A Star Is Born

Lady Gaga came out to celebrate her former colleague Bradley Cooper at the screenwriter and director Maestro premiere.

The winner of 13 Grammys (37) posed with Cooper (48) and his Maestro actress, Carey Mulligan, before a screening at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday. Cooper’s daughter Lea De Seine (6) also posed with the stars.

The two of them collaborated on A star is born in 2018, in which Cooper played a hard-drinking musician who discovers and falls in love with a young singer, played by Gaga.

The film earned eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor for Cooper and Best Actress for Gaga. She received the film’s only Oscar win, taking home the award for Best Original Song for “Shallow.” The song also won three Grammys.

During the 2019 Academy Awards, the pair performed an intimate duet of the song, leading fans to believe that the stars may have feelings for each other in real life.

In November 2021, Cooper said The Hollywood Reporter that they simply decided to stay in character to keep his nerves in check as he sang live at the awards show.

“Just from a personal standpoint, it lowers the anxiety level,” Cooper said. “They kind of fall in love in that scene in the movie. It’s that explosive moment that happens to them on stage in front of thousands of people… It would have been so weird if we were both on chairs facing the audience.”

In time A star is bornAt the Los Angeles premiere, Cooper told PEOPLE, “I made a friend for life.”

“As great as this movie was, what I will take with me forever is the relationship I have with her because she is an amazing person. I am very happy to have worked with her,” said the director in 2018.

The singer said the same about her colleague and director in an Entertainment Weekly interview. “It just changed me,” Gaga said of her role in the film. “Watching Bradley work was phenomenal, and then having him believe in me — that gave me more ammunition to believe in myself and I feel so blessed to have had that experience.”

Cooper continued his directing work A star is born with its latest edition, Maestro. The film centers on the real life of composer Leonard Bernstein (Cooper) and the relationship of his wife Felicia Montealegra Cohn Bernstein (Carey Mulligan).

Maestro premiered in select theaters in November and will be available to stream on Netflix on December 20.
