Before joining the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Grasdal played for the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). During his two-year stay with the Terriers, he recorded 10 points with nine assists and one goal in 45 games.
