He also said he couldn’t reveal the truth because many people with poor mental health idolized him. He said in the video,

I made this video to apologize because I messed up, because I feel embarrassed and ashamed, because I lied and misled a lot of people. It was so tricky to navigate. Well, obviously, I did something wrong, and I’m here to set the record straight – yes, I have taken steroids, and yes, I am on steroid therapy that is monitored and managed by a trained hormone clinician. While spreading the word, I’ve been on several podcasts and when asked if I’ve ever taken steroids, I always say, “No.” I don’t touch that stuff. Won’t touch those things. Never touched these things. That’s a lie. I’m sure it has nothing to do with ancestral information. I fully admit that I screwed up. As a man, I feel so sorry and all I can do now is take extreme ownership, become better, and allow myself to live a better life as a better person. “
