Bride-to-Be Pleads for Help on TikTok After Flight to Her Wedding Is Canceled

A woman is asking for help after learning that the flight she and her fiance were supposed to take to their wedding was cancelled.

“We’re flying to our wedding tomorrow morning and United just told us our flight is canceled,” Emma Degerstedt explained in a TikTok posted on Tuesday.

In the video, Degerstedt said that after learning her flight was canceled, she began looking for other options. Even though the timing of the other flights wasn’t ideal—and she and her fiance wouldn’t be able to sit next to each other—they were willing to do anything to make it to their wedding. So, she selected the 6 am flight and clicked.

“Oh, it’s on hold,” she said, reading the notice that popped up next. “There’s no guarantee.”

“When people told me things would go wrong the week of your wedding, I thought the florist would forget and we wouldn’t have flowers at our wedding, like things I could have arranged,” Degerstedt continued. “Not like we wouldn’t make it there for our wedding. United, help.”

In a follow-up video released later that day, the bride-to-be explained why her first flight was cancelled. “Remember the Alaska Airlines flight where the door flew off, that was our plane. A Boeing MAX 9. It was pulled because the door flew off.”

She continued, “I was wondering how many of these planes are there that were just retired? Like, do we have to call everyone coming to our wedding and warn them about their flight? Oh no, no, there’s only 80. .and we happen to be on one of 80 United Boeing MAX 9 aircraft across the United States.”

“Now I have a stress rash,” Degerstedt added. “Nothing more can happen now, right? We’re done?”

Degerstedt’s comments section was flooded with advice from people suggesting what she and her fiance should do. “Why don’t you just cancel and get a full refund and rebook with another airline 🤔,” wrote one user.

“Look at other carriers. Alaska and United are the only domestic carriers with Max 9s,” suggests someone else.

Another comment read: “Girl! Get in line with your wedding dress. Trust me. People will make sure you arrive ready. I travel a lot for business and would ABSOLUTELY give up my seat for you.”

However, other TikTokers questioned why the couple waited until the day before the wedding to fly out.

“It’s crazy to fly to a wedding, the day before your wedding, in the winter. It’s even crazier to be shocked to have your flight canceled in the winter,” someone commented.

Another wrote: “I don’t know who didn’t tell you to fly out earlier than the day before the flight 😭.”
