A BRITISH couple who were found dead on a Caribbean beach on Saturday are believed to have drowned.
Rosaline Foster, 76, reportedly died trying to save her husband David John Foster, 77, who had suffered a heart attack off the coast of the Grenadine island of Carriacou.

The Royal Grenada Police Force today identified the couple as Mr and Mrs Foster, two pensioners who were holidaying on the island with other family members.
Their bodies were found on Paradise Beach in the village of L’Esterre.
Mr Foster was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mrs Foster was rushed to the nearby Princess Royal Hospital where she was assessed and also pronounced dead.
Police officer Corporal Ardell Lewis told BBC News: “The basic facts seem to suggest that the man may have had a heart attack and the woman may have gone to help him and she would probably have drowned.”
Officers have now launched an investigation and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
In a statement, reported by Loop News, Grenada police said the results “will tell us exactly what happened to them, but for now it is an apparent drowning.”
The statement continued: “On Saturday 9 March 2024, two bodies were found on the paradise beach of L’Esterre, Carriacou.
“The police visited the scene and saw the (man’s) body lying on the sand.
“The doctor pronounced him dead at the scene.
“(His wife) also from the United Kingdom was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, Carriacou, where she was examined by a doctor and pronounced dead.
“The police investigation is continuing. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
The British Foreign Office told The Sun: “We are assisting the families of the two Britons who died in Grenada and are in contact with the local authorities.”
Covered with white beaches, Carriacou has about 8,000 inhabitants and is the second largest island in Grenada.
Their deaths come as an American couple visiting Grenada are feared dead after their yacht was allegedly hijacked by three escaped prisoners.
Sailors Ralph Hendry and his wife, Kathy Brandel, disappeared en route to the restaurant the same day the fugitives “escaped custody,” the New York Post reported.
Ron Mitchell, 30, Trevon Robertson, 19, and Abita Stanislaus, 25, are believed to have fled to another island on the couple’s stolen boat.
The police classified their death as a homicide, but the bodies have not been found so far.
