PEOPLE knows the king personally told his sons Prince William and Prince Harry, and siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, about the diagnosis.

Harry, 39 — who lives in California with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet — will travel to London in the coming days to visit his father, PEOPLE has learned.

President Joe Biden spoke to reporters Monday about the news of King Charles’ diagnosis. “I’m worried about him,” Biden, 81, said. “I just heard his diagnosis.”

He noted that he had not yet spoken to the king about his illness, adding: “But I will speak to him, God willing.”

King Charles underwent prostate surgery last month. He was released from the hospital on January 29 after three days. On Sunday, he made his first public appearance since the procedure, attending a service at St Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham with Queen Camilla.

The king returned to London on Monday to begin treatment as an outpatient.

Also on Monday, it was announced that Prince William, 41, will return to public duty this week. He cleared his work schedule to help care for wife Kate Middleton following abdominal surgery on January 16. The Princess of Wales (42) continues her recovery at home in Windsor after a 13-day stay in hospital in London.
