The bus accident is believed to have occurred on the N2 near Swellendam in the Western Cape. Provincial authorities confirmed that three culprits were registered in this tragedy. In addition, the bus was also reported to have overturned on the N2 near Swellendam. The bus was heading towards Cape Town. After conducting a preliminary investigation at the scene, the authority said: “The passenger bus overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle. All lanes are closed and stop-go will be activated as soon as it is safe. Preliminary reports suggest three deaths, but this is subject to review by forensic pathology services.” Fifty passengers on the bus were reported to have sustained serious physical injuries, but emergency services provided assistance to the victims.
