Call the Midwife teases emotional special episode with behind-the-scenes video

Call the Midwife shared a new behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming Christmas special and it’s going to be emotional!

Sharing a video of Turner’s three youngest children, Angela, Teddy and May, playing in the snow, the show’s official social media account revealed that filming for the festival episode was going “fantastic”, while also added that viewers may need “a tissue or two” when the special airs in December.

Three young actors Alice Brown, Edward Shaw and April-Rae Hoang can be seen in the photo looking very excited as they prepare to throw snow at the camera. Watch the video below.

The caption begins: “It’s been a tradition for us to film our new Christmas special in unusually warm weather – and this year was no different!

“You’ll be pleased to know that the spring sunshine hasn’t dampened the young Turners’ enthusiasm for off-season snowballing! Young stars Alice Brown (Angela), Edward Shaw (Teddy) and April-Rae Hoang have been VERY good. excited to capture this special moment in our festive episode. (Getting them to stop when we say ‘cut’ is a bit harder,” the post continued, adding a winking face.

Revealing the upcoming episode, the show’s team wrote on social media: “This year’s seasonal plot shooting is going GREAT – laughter, fun and family. Maybe with a scarf or two. paper.”

As for what fans can expect from the Christmas special, Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Patrick Turner, told RadioTimes.com: “It has a different feel; it’s a different audience. , people are at home with their families and so it’s very different. The atmosphere is also what brings us into the new season. It has all those elements and over the years, all of them. I’m used to that rhythm.”

Filming for the new film began in May, and the film’s social media pages have kept fans updated with the latest news from the set. The first behind-the-scenes update reveals that the Buckle and Cyril Robinson family will appear in the Season 13 opening scene.

Sharing a snap of actors Cliff Parisi, Zephryn Taitte and Annabelle Apsion posing with a small plank, the caption explained: “PROMNO!! It’s official – Call the Midwoman has started filming for Series 13!!

“Bringing these photos straight from our set, where our brave Buckles, along with the lovely Cyril, had the honor of kicking off the 13th series with the opening scene!!”

Unfortunately, Zephryn’s on-screen wife, Leonie Elliott, won’t be returning for the upcoming Christmas special and season 13.

The actress who played Lucille Anderson for six years recently announced her departure from the historical drama series and said in a statement that she is moving on to new projects.
