Can you see a man’s smiling face in this black and white grid
There are a few different tricks to help you see it – from looking at a distance to standing at an angle.
The most effective seems to be staring at the grid while scrolling up and down on the computer.
That should reveal the smiling face hidden by the squares.
The baffling puzzle is created by Akiyoshi Kitaoka, a psychology professor at Ritsumeikan University in Japan.
He shared the image on his Twitter page with the caption: “One of my portraits”.
Some users complained it hurt their eyes to look at the optical illusion, others were determined to see the hidden image.
To see the man’s face, simple scroll up and down while looking at the image.
However, if you are still having trouble, Kitaoka suggested looking at it from a distance.
It’s the latest in the psychologist’s stream of optical illusions.

The psychologist reveals the formula for the dastardly trick
Last weekend he posted a picture of a girl who looked like she had different coloured eyes but they were both grey.
His previous works have included straight lines that appear to be slanted and an acorn picture which appears to move.
