The horrific incident happened just minutes after the team’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

West Midlands Police said they are investigating and carrying out CCTV inquiries to identify the vehicle involved.

One Aston Villa fan, 33, said it was lucky no one was killed after suffering serious leg injuries after a large car sped towards her and other fans.

She managed to remove her 85-year-old grandmother just before the impact, reports Birmingham Live.

However, the 33-year-old woman said that she was then thrown over the bonnet and suffered leg injuries.

The photos show that she was badly bruised after the dangerous collision.

The fan said she was left “shocked and shaken” after just leaving the stadium with other Villa fans.

She suffered ligament damage and will have to wear a leg brace for several weeks.

The woman was at the game with her grandmother and niece before the chaos erupted and said she was hit in the knee by a car.

She told Birmingham Live: “What should have been a good game of football ended up being hit by a car that hit me in the knee.

“He literally ran into me, drove on the sidewalk into other people obviously. People around me were screaming. He hit multiple people, some people tried to chase after him.

“Many witnesses helped me get up, but it could have been much worse. It shook me and scared everyone.

“I don’t know how nobody got killed. It was absolutely reckless driving on his part.”

Police said afterward they were trying to identify the vehicle involved in Saturday’s crash, and people who may have seen the incident were asked to come forward.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called to a collision involving a car and pedestrians in Witton Road, Aston, yesterday (Saturday).

“Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

“We are investigating and carrying out CCTV inquiries to identify the vehicle.”

Anyone who may have seen the incident or believe they can help with the investigation has been asked to contact the service via the Live Chat function on its website or call the police non-emergency number 101, quoting log 3654 of November 23.
