Caralisa Monteiro is an Indian singer, music composer and activist. She is known for her work as a playback singer mainly in the Hindi film industry. She also sang songs for many commercials. Her breakthrough song was “Phir Dekhiye” from the 2008 musical Bollywood film “Rock On!!”.

Her father Neville Monteiro was an opera singer and accountant for Mahindra and Mahindra Limited; he died in 2006 after a battle with cancer. Her mother, Emeline Monteiro, is a teacher at Bosco High School in Matungathan, Mumbai. In 1986, when Caralisa was 11, her mother died after a battle with lymphadenoma.

In 1999, Caralisa Monteiro began singing songs for commercials and television commercials. After singing at college events, she had the opportunity to sing a song for a coffee brand with music directors Loy Mendonsa and Ehsaan Noorani. She was paid Rs 3000 for singing the first song. One of her friends told her about an audition with Indian composer Leslie Lewis, and she got the job singing another song. Later, Leslie Lewis began calling her frequently to sing songs for more commercials.
