Carl Bay is a Swedish entrepreneur. He is one of the co-founders of Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer OnePlus. I.M. Pei is the founder and CEO of Nothing Technology Limited, a London-based technology company; the company launched its first smartphone “Phone 1” globally on July 12, 2022.

Shortly after his birth, his family moved from China to the United States and lived there for several years before finally settling in Stockholm, Sweden. Carl Bey spent most of his childhood in Stockholm. Meizu

Although the company launched the phone with a sales target of only 50,000 units, the device sold nearly 1 million units in its first year, generating revenue of approximately $300 million. Following the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3 were launched in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
The company launched the OnePlus 2 through a virtual reality video on YouTube, which crossed 296,000 views in October 2020. In June 2017, the company launched OnePlus 5, one of its fastest-selling smartphones.
Pei has been in charge of the design and marketing departments of OnePlus since its founding in 2013. He resigned as the company’s global director in October 2020 and started a new venture.

The letter is written in a dotted font, similar to the font Nothing uses in its promotional materials. Shortly after the video was posted online, many people waiting for the phone’s release, including tech enthusiasts, mistook the prank for an official communication from Nothing and began criticizing the brand on Twitter (since the company had never written a fake letter) . One of the tweets read,
#DearNothing…even we are part of India! “
The video was reportedly made to protest the lack of promotional units for Nothing Phone (1) in India available to regional content creators.
