Carmen Electra Reveals She Wore Another Cast Member's Red Swimsuit on Baywatch: 'It Was Kind of Cool' (Exclusive)

Carmen Electra recalls her most famous costume.

At the premiere of the new Hulu series in Los Angeles After Baywatch: A Moment in the SunThe 52-year-old actress and model told PEOPLE she still has the iconic red swimsuit that has become synonymous with beach drama.

“I just picked it up because at that moment we were all sizing up the new cast,” Electra said at the Aug. 26 event. “We did a rehearsal and the suits didn’t go all the way down, so we wore everyone’s suit that was marked ‘All’ would fit. But I didn’t have a problem with it. I thought it was kind of cool. ‘Okay, that’s Yasmine [Bleeth]a suit that will fit.'”

Bleeth joined the series, fronted by David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, as Caroline Holden in 1993, four years after it premiered in 1989. Electra, who played Lani McKenzie, joined the main cast in 1997.

Of Bleeth, Electra said: “She’s one of the girls that I adore and love so much. She was great. I loved working with her.”

While Electra said she hadn’t spoken to Bleeth “in a while,” she expressed her gratitude for the actress’ hospitality on set.

“She and Traci [Bingham] there were girls who grabbed me and said, ‘You should feel comfortable here. It is what it is. That’s what we’re going to do.’ And I said, ‘Cool. Thank you,” she recalled. “Because sometimes it can be scary. I mean, obviously I was working at MTV and my career was on the rise, but Baywatch he was just the icing on the cake, and then he helped me go in so many different directions.”

On July 10, ABC News Studios announced the four-part Hulu series, which will take a deeper look at “a cultural phenomenon that defined an era,” according to a press release.

The show, which ran from 1989 to 2001, followed a team of lifeguards led by Lt. Mitch Buchannon (Hasselhoff) as they saved lives and navigated personal dramas while working on a beach in Los Angeles.

The documentaries will include never-before-seen home videos shot by the cast, as well as exclusive interviews with more than 35 series creators and cast members — including Electra, Nicole Eggert, Billy Warlock and Alexandra Paul. Anderson, who famously played CJ Parker, will also sit down for a never-before-aired interview.

After Baywatch: A Moment in the Sun premieres Wednesday, August 28 on Hulu.
