Carol Higgins Clark, acclaimed author and actress, died recently, according to news reports. Carol, a self-proclaimed writer, died on June 12, 2023 at the age of 66 in Los Angeles.
Her death was linked to appendicitis, according to a statement by her family to The New York Times. Carol Higgins Clark worked on many books with her late mother, Mary Higgins Clark, in addition to her successful solo writing career. The Carol Higgins Clark Regan Reilly series, which followed the exploits of private investigator Regan Reilly, was one of her most famous works. Decked stood out among her successful works, receiving nominations for the Agatha Award and the Anthony Award for Best First Novel in 1992. She was also the sister-in-law of another famous writer, Mary Jane Clark. Her loving mother, Mary, died in 2020 aged 92. Carol’s father also died many years ago. Carol died June 12, 2023, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was being treated for appendicitis. Marilyn, Warren and David Clark are the author’s siblings. Carol’s older sister, Patricia, predeceased her. Her nephews and nieces, their children and countless relatives from the Clark and Higgins families all survive her.
Carolina’s origins were American, and Higgins came from a white family. She was born in Manhattan and raised in Washington Township, New Jersey.
