BBC Breakfast looked a little different on Tuesday morning when viewers found Carol Kirkwood absent from the show.
The popular weather host usually provides updates during the show, but has instead been replaced by Matt Taylor, who often provides forecasts during the weekend show.

Carol’s absence comes during an exciting period in her career when she will be taking on a new challenge from the show.
The Scottish star will join fans on a 4-day steamboat journey through his hometown. The trip, which will cost participants £1,495, also includes a castle visit, three boat trips and a ride on the Falkirk Wheel, and the weather presenter is expected to talk about her love of Scotland, growing up in Morar, her television career and her time as a contestant on Seriously to dance. A Q&A session with Carol will also be available.

Carol wasn’t the only star absent from Tuesday’s news program. Jon Kay, who often hosts the show with Sally Nugent, also went missing after being away last week.

Taking to social media ahead of his planned vacation, Jon explained that he’ll be back after a two-week break. “I’m enjoying the extra sleep and long-planned vacation with my family, so no need to set an alarm for tomorrow morning,” the 53-year-old wrote. “Back on the red sofa with my BBC Breakfast family in Salford in two weeks.”

Fans were quick to wish the reporter a relaxing holiday, with one person writing: “Enjoy your holiday and especially get some extra sleep. Looking forward to seeing you on the red sofa in two weeks time. .”
Relief host Ben Thompson acted on Jon’s behalf in his absence, sitting next to Sally on the red sofa.

Another star not on our screens is business executive Nina Warhurst, who is currently on maternity leave because she just gave birth to her third child.
The good news was announced by her co-stars Sally and Jon on the BBC Breakfast episode which aired on July 3, with the presenters announcing to viewers that Nina had given birth to a “baby girl”. very healthy, beautiful”, named “work in progress”. .

The 42-year-old, who is married to restaurateur Ted, recently posted an update on her and her newborn daughter’s health.
Nina responded to a fan on Twitter asking: “How are you and the baby? Hope everything is fine and no one woke you up.”

She replied, “We’re great, thanks. She kept me awake, but it was worth it.”
Nina, who just celebrated ten years since meeting her husband, is also a caring mother of two sons, Digby and Michael, born in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Nina and Ted, first met at a festival in Croatia in 2013, got married in 2014. She joined BBC Breakfast group four years later in 2018 before becoming the main business presenter in 2020.
