Carrie Underwood kicks off the weekend in style.
During her Friday, 2.8 Good morning America Appearing at the Summer Concert Series, the eight-time Grammy winner had a denim-on-denim moment perfect for the summer event.
Underwood, 41, took the stage at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park in red and matching knee-high denim boots. She matched the belted shorts with her sequined floral cropped jacket.
The “Before He Cheats” singer completed her look with colorful bejeweled rings and let her long blonde hair down. She treated fans gathered early Friday morning to performances of “Last Name,” “Before He Cheats” and “Out of That Truck.”

The day before her GMA performance, Underwood revealed that she will be back American Idol take Katy Perry’s place. She previously won the 4th season of the singing competition show in 2005, making this new appearance a full circle.
“I remember being at home in our little house and seeing on TV that the auditions were in St. Louis. My mom said, ‘If you want to go, I’ll take you,'” Underwood said of her trip from Checotah , Okla., for an audition that would change her life. “I went from nobody knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show.”

During her Aug. 2 concert, Underwood said her upcoming performance “feels like going home.”
“There are so many people who are still working on the show that were there from when I was a contestant,” she added.

Underwood also joked that he has a “big problem” with his upcoming judging. – I can’t lie – she said.
“I just can’t. It shows,” she added. “I feel like I’m going to be very honest, but hopefully I’m going to be very constructive and encouraging.”

The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer previously appeared American Idol In 2018 and 2022, she performed “Cry Pretty” in 2018 after suffering a facial injury. She was a guest mentor in 2022 for 20 semi-finalists.
Season 25 of American Idol will premiere in the spring of 2025.
