She said: “I really wanted to apologize to everyone I offended yesterday when I made a light-hearted joke about my dancing style.

“It really wasn’t intended to upset anyone, but I can see why that might have been the case, so I apologize. I’m very sorry.”

Ben interjected, “That would never be our intention.”

And Cat added, “He didn’t come from that place at all.”

During yesterday’s show, Cat was seen dancing and flashing to Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass, prompting Ben to laugh at her.

She then stated, “There’s nothing to see here. Yes, I’m fine, I’m just having a fit.”

The flippant remark sparked outrage from viewers who either suffer from seizures themselves or have loved ones who do.

One person wrote: “Seizures are not funny for people with #epilepsy @catdeeley.”

And another viewer tweeted: “It’s heartbreaking to see that there are so many types of seizures and to see you make fun of people who have them is very upsetting.

“I almost lost my child several times due to seizures and it is very bad.

“Maybe you should do a story about epilepsy to see what happens.”

This Morning suffered another blow after ratings fell as viewers slammed Cat Deeley for ‘making jokes about disabled people’

The Epilepsy Society also came forward to condemn this moment.

They wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Seizures are no laughing matter for people with #epilepsy @catdeeley.

“Please do better and educate yourself about this difficult and poorly understood condition, @thismorning.”

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the brain and causes seizures.

What is epilepsy?

Epilepsy is a brain condition that can disrupt electrical communication between neurons in the nervous system.

This often leads to a seizure, a sudden event that can change a person’s consciousness, behavior or feelings.

The condition is usually diagnosed when a person has two or more unprovoked seizures at least 24 hours apart.

Epilepsy can start at any age, but it usually affects people in early childhood or over 60 years of age.

The upset comes after it was revealed that viewers of the ITV morning show have almost halved in two months.

Just over a million watched the first day with new hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard in mid-March.

But by the same point in May the peak had fallen to 589,000 – with an average of 486,000 watching the ITV show.

In comparison, BBC1 rival Morning Live had solid figures between one million and 1.4 million.
