CAT 2023 Dress Code, Exam Day Guidelines
CAT 2023 Dress Code: The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow will conduct the CAT 2023 exam on Sunday, November 26, 2023. The exams will be conducted at designated exam centers across 150 cities in the country. Students appearing for the exams must keep in mind the important instructions and rules and CAT 2023 dress code to follow on the day of the exam to avoid making mistakes and being declared disqualified from appearing in the exam.
CAT exam 2023 is conducted in online mode. The first important instruction for candidates is to have their CAT 2023 admit card with them. The link to the admit card is available on the official website. To download admit card, candidates have to login through the official link using user ID and password. Please note that students are required to bring the admission form with them on the day of the exam. Students are also advised to go through the instructions given on the admit card carefully.
Things to keep in mind while appearing for CAT 2023
As mentioned, CAT 2023 exam is conducted in online mode. The exam will be held in three sessions. Details about the schedule and date for taking the exam will be given in the individual admit cards. Students are also advised to keep the following in mind on the day of the exam
- Carry the hard copy of CAT 2023 admit card
- Report to the exam center at least one hour before the start of the exam
- No electrical devices or calculators are allowed
- Follow the prescribed dress code
CAT 2023 Dress Code
Adherence to the prescribed dress code for the CAT exam is mandatory for students appearing for the exams. Students who are preparing for the management entrance exam can check the dress code for the exam date below.
It is strictly forbidden to wear any jewelry containing metal
According to the issued guidelines for the CAT exam, female candidates are advised to wear simple clothes. Students are advised to avoid fancy jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, earrings or rings. Students wearing such items will be asked to remove them before entering the examination hall
Students may not wear shoes, hats, jackets and clothing with large pockets and metal accessories
Students may not wear shoes with thick soles. Dresses attached to hats or hoodies are also not allowed. Students are advised to avoid clothing that attracts unnecessary attention leading to additional scrutiny. Dresses with minimal pockets are recommended
Students with a metal implant or pacemaker are advised to have a medical certificate
Students with a pacemaker or any metal object in their body are required to carry accompanying medical documentation to avoid additional checks before the start of the exam.
Candidates may not carry bags, mobile phones and electronic items with them
Candidates are not allowed to carry electronic devices like mobile phones inside the examination hall. Laptops, smart watches and fitness bands are strictly prohibited in the exam hall. Devices like pagers and calculators are also prohibited in the examination hall.
Things to carry on the day of CAT 2023 exam
When taking the CAT 2023 exams, students are required to carry the following items with them
CAT Admit Card 2023
CAT 2023 Admit Card is available on the official website. Students appearing for the exams on November 26 should download the admit card from the website. The access card is a mandatory document that must be presented at the exam center
A valid photo ID
Along with the CAT admit card, students are required to carry a valid photo ID. Proof can be any government document with a photograph and the candidate’s signature. Approved documents include Aadhar Card, Election Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport etc.
Scribe’s statement and medical certificate
Students who need help on the day of the exam must bring documents supporting their request along with the affidavit.
Any other required document
In case of name change or any other documentation that will be required on the day of the exam, students appearing for the CAT 2023 exam must carry it with them.
List of prohibited subjects for CAT 2023 exam
Along with the list of items allowed in the exam hall, there is also a list of prohibited items that students appearing for CAT exams should not carry. This includes mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, electronic devices, calculators, wristwatch cases for paper goods.
