Cedric McMillan is an American IFBB professional bodybuilder and U.S. Army instructor. Known for his beautiful physique, MacMillan is one of the world’s leading bodybuilders. He died of severe heart disease on April 12, 2022, at the age of 44.

Cedric McMillan was born in Maplewood, New Jersey, USA on Wednesday, August 17, 1977 (age 44 at the time of death), under the astrological sign of Leo.
He completed his primary education at Clinton Elementary School. As a child, he was fascinated by muscular physiques and often drew cartoon characters with special physiques. He has admired the seven-time Olympian Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger since he was a child; MacMillan became a loyal fan of Schwarzenegger after watching Schwarzenegger’s “Conan the Barbarian”. When he was thirteen, his mother gave him a set of weights after learning of his passion for the sport. Soon, he started weight training and realized he had good bodybuilding genes.
From 1994 to 1996, Cedric attended Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida. After high school, McMillan moved to Lancaster, South Carolina, where he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Soon after, MacMillan’s friend Mark Neal convinced him to enter a bodybuilding competition. Neil encouraged him to learn the basics of bodybuilding and helped him gain the proper weight and shape.

McMillan began his career in the U.S. Army in 1997. He served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class. Cedric also served as an instructor at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Cedric McMillan began his bodybuilding career in 2007 competing at the NPC South Carolina competition. He competed in the super heavyweight division and finished first. In 2008, he participated in the NPC US Youth Championship and won the championship. He subsequently went on to compete in many popular bodybuilding championships such as the NPC National Championships (2009), European Dallas Pro Championships (2010) and New York Pro Championships (2011).
MacMillan is a top open division bodybuilder with eight professional competition wins. In 2009, he earned his first pro card. Cedric’s most notable victory came at the 2017 Arnold Classic in Ohio, where he had the opportunity to meet his idol, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who praised his classic physique. Even though McMillan set the standard at the Arnold Classic in Ohio, he was considered underperforming in the Mr. Olympia finals.
Cedric last competed at the 2020 Arnold Classic in Ohio, where he finished sixth.

On April 12, 2022, Cedric McMillan died of heart disease. He reportedly suffered a heart attack while on the treadmill. Black Skull USA, the supplement company that sponsors MacMillan, confirmed his death on Instagram, writing:
We regret to inform you that our friend and brother @cedricmcmillan passed away today. Cedric will be deeply missed as an athlete, comrade, friend and father. “

McMillan has previously spoken about his heart issues. In 2021, he contracted Covid-19 and developed some breathing problems. He was ultimately taken to the hospital with pneumonia and placed on life support.
Although he recovered after some time, he delayed his return to competitive bodybuilding due to health issues. In 2022, just months before his death, McMillan announced that he soon planned to return to the sport.
