Soon after completing his college studies, Chandan Kumar Singh started working as a physical education teacher in a secondary school in Samdana Hathiya. In 2008, he represented Jharkhand in lawn bowls and won a bronze medal in the national championship held in Ranchi. In 2016, Chandan Kumar Singh participated in the four-a-side competition of the Asian Lawn Bowl Championship and won the gold medal. The following year he competed again in the same championship and again won gold in the three-man event. In 2014 and 2018, he participated in the Commonwealth Games. In 2022, Chandan Kumar Singh and his four teammates Sunil Bahadur, Navneet Singh and Dinesh ·Dinesh Kumar won a silver medal in the four-a-side event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He also competed in the men’s triples event during the same tournament.

- According to his family, the late Arjun Prasad Singh was his grandfather and an Indian Army officer. His grandfather was a member of the Dhavadal Party. Speaking to the media, his family said that on February 15, 1932, his grandfather hoisted the tricolor flag at Tarapur police station and was honored by the local government for his contribution to society.
