His father, Captain Baldev Singh, was an army officer and former attorney general from Khair, Aligarh. His mother Krishna Kumari Devi was the daughter of the Maharaja of Bolangir of Orissa. He has two brothers namely Abhimanyu Raj Singh and Aditya Narain Singh; both are film producers. His younger brother Abhimanyu Raj Singh is often confused with Indian actor Abhimanyu Singh.

- In an episode of the TV series Koffee With Karan, Indian actor Salman Khan said that even if actors like Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur are cast, He also accepted the role of Aman in the Hindi film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). Singh, who was unemployed at the time, declined the offer. However, Singh was upset about this and wrote “Jhoot Salman Ka” in an Instagram comment. He later deleted the comment.

- In 2009, while skiing in Goa, he lost his grip on his skis. The ship’s speed grew so fast that his right hand was ripped from his shoulder joint. Immediately after the accident, he was taken to hospital and placed on bed rest for several months. He didn’t have a good job for about eight years. He also gained weight due to his inability to exercise.
