He started kabaddi training at Alanthankarai, known as one of the strongest teams in Kanyakumari region. Previously, he received guidance from Coach Ravi at the academy where he trained. He represented Alanthankarai Academy in national and district level kabaddi tournaments.
Professional Kabaddi League
In 2014, Chandran Ranjith made his Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) debut in his first season with Telugu Titans.

After spending another season with Telugu Titans, he joined Gujarat Fortune Titans for Pro Kabaddi Season 5 for a fee of Rs 6 lakh. In 2018, Dabang Delhi KC invested Rs 61.25 million to buy him in the 6th season of Pro Kabaddi League, and a year later invested Rs 70 lakh to retain him in the 7th season of PKL. Ranjith played 42 matches in the Pro Kabaddi League and led his team with 216 points. His career high score in a single game is 12 points. In Season 7, he participated in 22 games, performed a total of 262 raids, and scored 118 raid points. In 2021, he was acquired by the Bengaluru Bulls for 8 million rupees to participate in the PKL Season 8. In Season 8, he played a total of 19 games, scoring 185 total raid points and 1 super steal. One of his raids against Patna Pirates was termed as a ‘move of the day’.
In PKL Season 9, Gujarat Giants bought him in 2022 for Rs 30 lakh. In the league, he was elected captain of the team and played in 17 games, scoring 95 raid points in a total of 162 raids. In PKL Season 10, his auction price increased from Rs 30 lakh in Season 9 to Rs 62 lakh. He was acquired by Haryana Steelers.
