Chappell Roan on coming out as a lesbian: ‘I just shouldn’t have slept with men’
“I was afraid of flashy gay people because that’s what I was taught,” the “After Midnight” musician told the new paper. “[I realized] people hate extremely gay people because they exude femininity, and people hate women. Just little things like that where you’re like, ‘Oh my God, this is so fucked up.’ ”
Roan admitted that she deals with the feeling that “it’s so embarrassing to be gay sometimes”.
“I don’t see why it’s such a problem for me,” she said. “It shouldn’t be, but something just happens and I just have to accept it.”
