Chappell Roan Says She’d Be 'Way Bigger' If She ‘Wore a Muzzle': 'I'd Be More Successful'

Chappell Roan isn’t afraid to use her voice for more than just singing!

In a new interview with the BBC, published on January 19, the singer, 26, revealed that she will never hold back from speaking her mind despite being called a “spoiled giant” and accused of having “tantrums”.

She says she experienced harassment and people “stalking” her parents’ home amid the “crazy” acts she says pop stars are expected to keep quiet about. Last September, Roan went viral for clapping back at a photographer who insulted the stars on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet.

“I’ve been responding in a disrespectful way my whole life – but now the cameras are on me, and I happen to be a pop star, and those things don’t add up,” “Good luck, honey!” the hitmaker told the BBC, referring to the viral moment. “It’s like oil and water.”

However, she told the BBC that her career has taken a hit because she speaks publicly and rejects convention.

“I think, actually, I would have been more successful if I had worn a muzzle in line,” she joked on the way out. “If I override more of my basic instincts, where my heart goes, ‘Stop, stop, stop, you’re not okay,’ I’d be bigger.”
