As per latest updates, schools and colleges in Puducherry, Karaikal, Kalaiselvvi, Kanchipuram, Chennai, Chengalpet and Thiruvallore are closed today. The District Collectors announced the closure of the educational institutions keeping in mind the safety and welfare of the students.

Schools in Chennai are closing tomorrow
As per latest update, due to cyclonic storm ‘Michaung’, all schools, colleges, educational institutions and government offices including offices of public companies/corporations, boards, banks and financial institutions in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu Districts will be closed on 05.12.2023 ( Tuesday).

Chennai school news tomorrow: Cyclone Michaung to hit AP and Tamil Nadu
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the cyclonic storm will cross south Andhra Pradesh and the adjoining north Tamil Nadu coast between Chennai and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh around December 4 evening. Therefore, the closing of schools was announced as a precaution.
Cyclone Michaung: Offices in WFH mode, flights cancelled/diverted
The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday on Monday. The state government has ordered private companies and other offices to allow work from home or work with limited staff in case of emergency due to the expected cyclone. Also, several flights at the Chennai airport were canceled and others were diverted due to heavy rain.
Chennai cyclone news: Metro stations flooded, authorities urge to stay indoors
Due to the heavy rain, several metro stations were flooded with water. The metro authorities had to pump out the excess water at the station’s two-wheeler parking lot. Although the metro is still operating, passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The Greater Chennai Corporation has urged people not to travel on the roads unnecessarily.
School Holidays in Andhra Pradesh
AP School holidays have been announced! According to local reports, schools in NTR district will remain closed on December 4 and 5 due to Cyclone Michaung. NTR District Collector S Dilli Rao announced this.
