CHERYL reportedly feared the worst for her ex Liam Payne months before his tragic death in Buenos Aires.
The former One Direction star, 31, was in Argentina on tour with friend Niall Horan when he tragically fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel.

In the months before his death on Wednesday, Liam’s ex-partner Cheryl was said to be “really worried” about him.
In August last year, the 1D singer had to cancel his tour and take a break from performing after he was rushed to hospital with a serious kidney infection.
A source who claims to be close to the Girls Aloud star told the Mirror at the time: “Cheryl is very worried about Liam.
“As soon as she heard that he was in the hospital, she feared the worst.
“She’s really protective of him and makes sure no one’s really looking out for him.”
Liam admitted he turned to alcohol and drugs as he struggled to cope with the dizzying levels of One Direction fame — which would cause panic attacks and exhaustion.
He spent time at an American wellness clinic after “hitting rock bottom.”
The singer also told how a mysterious respiratory illness left him on the floor in 2021.
In the same year, he blamed a “pill and booze phase” for his face being bloated to “ten times its size”, while also revealing he used to swallow the contents of his mini-bar when band bosses checked the guys into hotels to keep fans at bay. bay.

It was a romance that caused a media storm.
One Direction man Liam Payne was just 14 when he met former X Factor judge Cheryl during the show in 2008.
But it wasn’t until 2016 – when the Girls Aloud singer was divorcing her second husband – that the couple got together despite their ten-year age difference.
The couple made their relationship official in May of that year when they appeared at Eva Longoria’s Global Gift Gala in Paris.
In 2017, Liam paid a sweet tribute to his girlfriend by tattooing her eye on his arm.
Cheryl was pregnant at the time and gave birth to a baby boy on March 22, 2017.
She posted a picture of Liam cradling their 7lb 9oz baby on Instagram with the caption: “On Wednesday Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy, dream-looking baby boy.”
A friend told The Sun: “Liam didn’t leave Cheryl during the birth and, like her, is smitten with their new son and can’t wait to take him home.
“It’s the perfect Mother’s Day for Cheryl.”

A spokesman for the local emergency services said Liam was pronounced dead outside his hotel after suffering “extremely serious” injuries.
He said: “The alarm was raised at 17:04 local time saying that a person was lying in the inner terrace of Casa Sur.
“Our role was to get there quickly, provide medical assistance and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
“Based on what the team saw, there was clearly a fractured skull and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”

A heartbreaking 911 call made by the hotel manager was also revealed.
In it, the front desk manager says, “We have a guest who is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”
He called after the line was disconnected, repeating his request and claiming: “We urgently need to send someone because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger.
“They must be in the room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little worried that he’s going to do something, that he’s going to risk his life.”
Witnesses at the hotel reported that Liam smashed his laptop and had to be carried back to the room, TMZ reports.
Argentine police said they were called to the hotel after staff reported an “aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
The chilling photo – said to be his last – shows the singer returning to the CasaSur hotel.
Officers found Liam dead in the inner courtyard of the hotel at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time) when they arrived.
Scores of fans gathered to pay their respects outside the Casa Sur hotel in the Palermo district at a candlelight vigil.
A bouquet of white carnations was decorated with a heart-shaped ornament that read: ‘Te Amo’ – ‘I love you’ in Spanish.

An autopsy is expected to be performed later today in Buenos Aires.
Just minutes before his death, Liam shared a Snapchat post showing him and his girlfriend looking at each other in the mirror.
The picture was created a few days before his tragic fall.
Kate also shared a post of Liam riding a horse with her in the countryside.
Tributes poured in for the singer, with celebrities and fans expressing their heartbreak.
Harry Styles’ mum shared a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram with the caption: “Just a boy…”.
Liam’s ex-fiancée Maya Henry was also “in shock” after the tragic news.
Just two days before the tragedy, Maya commented on the podcast claiming that the star “predicted his early death”.
Back in August, the 31-year-old shared a rare glimpse into his private life by posting a video of his son Bear, whom he described as a “mini-me.”
Liam is survived by his son, parents Geoff and Karen Payne and two older sisters Ruth and Nicola.
