Fans of the Dick Wolf franchise are getting closer to new episodes thanks to the writers’ strike coming to an end.
Showrunners and writers are returning to several of his television shows this week, including Law and order: SVU and Chicagois a franchise of Fire, Honeyand PD on NBC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
FBI: Most Wanted and Internationalairing on CBS, their writing teams will also return.
However, one of Wolf’s creations, the Law and order spinoff, Organized crimewon’t be among the first to return to NBC as the show is reportedly looking for a new showrunner to fill the role.

The WGA has reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood Studios to end the strike
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike began on May 2 and has lasted more than 140 days as the union representing entertainment writers working in film, television, news and online media protested across the country to demand better wages and provisions over other key points, including staff obligations and length of employment.
On the morning of September 27, the union voted to end the writers’ strike, which went into effect at 12:01 a.m. PT.
The new deal was signed with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) — which represents Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBC Universal, Paramount and Sony — after the two groups went head-to-head last week.
During the work stoppage, which also coincided with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, most of Hollywood was shut down, with late-night shows going off the air immediately after the WGA strike began, and many other film and TV productions halted with no new material to record.

Stars across the Hollywood community joined the WGA strike, including Law and order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, who showed support for the writers in June when she protested outside Paramount Global’s New York offices.
“It’s a great honor to stand here in solidarity with the writers, wearing my WGA captain’s hat,” she said, per Diversity.
Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson on the show, continued: “I was your captain for 25 years ALL and I couldn’t do it without the writers. Every word out of my mouth for 25 years. So I stand here and say, let’s get this over with.”
Ice-T, known for his role as Fin Tutuola on the show, also shared his support via social media in July.
“Shout out to everyone ALL fans.. Normally we would be back in production filming a new season.. Unfortunately we are still on hold due to Writter [sic] strike,” he divided by X, formerly known as Twitter. “Hopefully we’ll be back sooner VS later.. I’ll keep you posted.”

Before the strike, NBC renewed six of Wolf’s series.
Law and order, law and order: SVU, Law and order: organized crime, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago police. were among the programs slated for a second season, according to an April announcement.
“I am delighted to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC,” Wolf said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE at the time.
He also thanked the “loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for a total of 84 seasons.”
