Chilling pics show how LA fires missed celeb homes by INCHES with Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg’s mansions safe…for now

FLASHING wildfires continued to ravage Los Angeles and destroy everything in their path, but some celebrities were spared the inferno.

Broken hearts such as Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton and Bella Hadid witnessed their homes reduced to smoldering ruins in the wind-fanned flames.

More than 180,000 residents were forced from their homes, and a further 200,000 were warned that they may need to evacuate quickly.

Some celebrities have had to deal with the force of wildfires, and their homes have been burned to the ground.

But for others, the fires narrowly spared their homes.

The house of Hollywood actor Tom Hanks (68) miraculously escaped the fire – unlike his neighbors.

Hanks’ cliffside mansion in Pacific Palisades managed to emerge unscathed, with the massive structure retaining its gleaming white walls and lush green lawn.

But the house above was not so lucky, hardly any of the infrastructure was left.

Smoke was even filmed still billowing from the charred remains of the multi-million dollar home.

Mandy Moore’s house also came dangerously close to being completely destroyed in the fire.

The This Is Us actress, 40, said in a heartbreaking Instagram post that her home was “still standing” but the music studio belonging to her musician husband Taylor Goldsmith and brother Griffin was destroyed.

She wrote: “We were able to park and walk down our street to bear witness to our loss.

“Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s uninhabitable, but mostly intact.”

She added that they also lost their “garage and back house.”

But her neighbour’s home was completely decimated by the flames and Moore confirmed they had “lost everything”.

Shocking pictures show the main part of Moore’s home looking relatively unscathed, but what appears to be a music studio and the back of the house have been reduced to rubble and ash.

And, just like Moore said, nothing was left of the neighbor’s house but two jet skis in the back.

Amazing pictures show the home of Star Wars star Mark Hamill that was saved from the Palisade fire.

Actor Luke Skywalker was one of many Hollywood actors who had to evacuate due to the raging flames.

But the star will be relieved to see his home is still standing – completely unscathed.

Even what appears to be an addition to the house stands strong, despite being inches away from the property of Hamill’s neighbor who didn’t share the same fate.

Steven Spielberg’s house – worth between $20 million and $35 million – narrowly missed the fires that ravaged the city this week.

The wooded country, with its acres of land and huge pool, is miraculously avoided, along with the surrounding greenery.

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has a residence in Malibu that was also not destroyed by the flames.

The incredible images show the right side of the lot completely charred by the fires, metal fences crumbling and a small building in the corner flattened.

But on the left, where Hunter’s property is, there are trees and grass left – as is his home.

The house appears to have sustained little or no damage, even with the deadly flames so close.

Other celebrities such as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kate Hudson survived the fires – but the fires in the area are still burning.

The new Kenneth fire is one of six blazes ravaging LA – ten confirmed dead, though the number is feared to be much higher.

Amputee Anthony Mitchell, 67, was tragically found dead alongside his bedridden son Justin, who was in his early 20s, after a fire tore through their home in Eaton.

The wheelchair-bound great-grandfather of 10 lived in Altadena with his son, who had cerebral palsy, Anthony’s daughter, Hajime White, told The Washington Post.

Hajime, who lives in Arkansas, said her father, a retired salesman, called her in desperation Wednesday morning as the fires moved closer to their family home.

“He said, ‘Honey, I’m just letting you know there’s a fire and we’re going to have to evacuate,'” Hajime recounted.

“Then he said: ‘I have to go – there’s a fire in the yard’.”

Anthony also lived with his other son Jordan, also in his 20s, but Jordan was spared this horrific fate as he was in hospital with an infection.

Hajime revealed that she was told the heartbreaking news that Anthony and Justin did not survive the terrorist fire.

“He was not going to leave his son. No matter what,” she said.

“It is very difficult. It was like a ton of bricks just fell on me.”

A suspected arsonist armed with a flamethrower was wrestled to the ground and restrained with shoelaces by angry locals near a celebrity enclave in Los Angeles.

He was then arrested near where the raging Kenneth Fire broke out in the West Hills area of LA on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities are treating the area as a crime scene as flames continue to burn through more than 1,000 hectares.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken into custody after being caught by residents.

He was allegedly caught trying to start a fire in the area, Senior Officer Charles Dinsel said.
