Earlier we used to stay in separate rooms. I used to go out with Telugu people. Then I don’t like going out with North Indian men. He used to eat everything, I used to only eat Indian food. So I used to go alone. Our coach told us to stay together and hang out together and now we have become good friends and he knows me well now and I know everything about him. “
After resolving all their differences, they became a dynamic duo in Indian badminton. The two first came into the spotlight after winning the 2016 Tata Open International Challenge in India. Our reaction said it all – can we get to the quarter-finals? Sometimes, even your best efforts are not enough to guarantee you a spot in the quarterfinals. When the draw was done, we knew we were part of the strongest team and we needed to be at our best to advance to the group stage. Unfortunately for us, in the end 3 teams won 2 games each, making the winning and losing games the deciding factor. But that’s the nature of the sport and we have to live with it. “
