Chris Bianco Age and Early Life
Chris Bianco was born in 1960 in the Bronx, New York. He grew up in Ossining, New York. As a young man, Chris’ asthma caused many health problems. Because of his asthma, he prefers to stay indoors. His aunt taught him to cook when he was at home. Chris Bianco started working in a neighborhood pizzeria when he was 13 years old. Then he dropped out of high school and started learning how to make pizza. He learned how to make Mozzarella at Mike’s Deli in the Bronx.
Chris won two tickets to anywhere in the United States in 1985. Then he decided to visit Phoenix. He liked this place so much that he decided to make it his permanent residence. He started selling his homemade Mozerella out of the house and eventually started selling it to neighboring Italian restaurants.

Career
Chris’ life changes when he moves to Phoenix and starts delivering Mozzarella cheese to a pizzeria. He had the opportunity to learn about the catering business before trying to make a pizza in a wood-fired pizza oven. Cosco, the food service manager, noticed him preparing pizza in a wood-burning oven and gave him a small space in the corner of the store to sell and make pizza. He started selling Margherita, Marinara and a unique pizza to customers at the corner shop. His pizza quickly became famous throughout the city. Then in 1988, he had the idea to hone his pizza making skills to turn it into a high-paying full-time job.
Chris Bianco then worked tirelessly to save money flying to Italy and perfecting his pizza-making talent. Finally, he flew to Italy to study for six months. When he returned to America, he settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico and worked in an Italian restaurant for three years. In 1994, he returned to Phoenix and opened his own pizzeria, Pizzeria Bianco, at the Town & Country Shopping Center.
After the success of Pizzeria Bianco, he opened Bar Bianco in 1997, and then went on to enjoy success in his business. In 2003, he received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef of the Southwest. Then, in 2005, he founded a new company called pane bianco. It’s a lunch and sandwich shop located on Central Avenue, about four kilometers from the Bianco pizzeria. In 2010, doctors advised him to stop cooking because of asthma. He has trouble breathing because of the oven and flour. The process of creating the pizza was then handled by Marco Bianco, Chris’ brother.
