Chris Eubank Jr secures stunning tenth-round stoppage of Liam Smith to get his revenge with brutal boxing lesson

CHRIS EUBANK JR got ruthless revenge on Liam Smith with a boxing masterclass that ended with a merciful stoppage in the tenth round.

Smith knocked out Eubank in the fourth round of their original clash nine months ago and fancied his chances of an easy repeat.

But the Liverpool hero had a total nightmare from the first bell, possibly suffering an ankle injury and twice subbed off before being saved by his own blind bravery.

Just like in January, Eubank was booed into the ring by the Liverpool and Manchester crowd who hate his arrogant persona.

And his outrageous green and gold Louis Vuitton outfit didn’t help with the working crowd and when he got to the apron he covered his ear to add to the jeers.

Smith barely threw a punch in the opener, it was an ugly and rough start with grabbing and shoving and a couple of punches from Eubank.

Eubank threw some useful combinations in the second round, but the slow starter Smith caught them all on his high guard.

Right after the bell, a few shots landed and Smith went down but was not hurt and referee Kevin Parker called it a foul and it didn’t count.

Eubank’s small crowd cheered in the third as an uppercut and a hook knocked the sweat from Smith’s silver hair.

Eubank dominated the rest of the round with sharp jabs, but none of them landed Smith.

The fourth had barely started before a Eubank barrage knocked Smith into the ground, at eight points.

An uppercut was the final blow that sent Smith to the canvas, then he slyly spat out his gumshield to buy some desperately needed extra recovery time while it was washed and replaced.

Smith also looked doomed on the heel as he tucked in and soaked up shots on the ropes, but Eubank powered out and let him out of the game.

Eubank was excellent in the sixth as well, putting on a clinic on accurate jabs, brutal body shots and the lower man’s uppercut. It was the performance of his career so far.

Left hooks to Smith’s ribs in the seventh round could be heard ringing across Merseyside.

It was a bizarre one-sided beating and there were rumors around the ring that he was carrying an ankle injury from the fourth round.

But his corner made no apparent effort to treat the supposed injury at intervals, preferring to advise him on how to finally strike the runaway leader across from him.

Another uppercut in the ninth round sent bodily fluids from Smith’s head into the arena air. It was amazing that there was no bleeding or bruising around his battered face.

Smith staggered around the ring at the start of the tenth and when the cut over his right eye finally opened, it was too late.

And then he was tossed into the blue corner for another count after a flurry of hammer blows from Hove.

The referee jumped in to stop the pinning, Smith tried to appeal but barely landed a punch let alone got a round.
