Chris Hemsworth played by his own rules at the 2024 Met Gala.
Speaking with Hey! News in an article published on Monday, May 13, Thor The 40-year-old actor revealed that he bypassed proper protocol at the biggest fashion night of the year.
Hemsworth told the paper that he took “loads of selfies” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 6.
“Selfies everywhere. Lots of selfies in my phone. Like, ‘When did I take that? Let’s delete that one,'” he added.
According to Vogue, an annual event that benefits the Costume Institute, maintains a “no phone call policy.” Posting images on social media is also prohibited — although the Marvel talent isn’t the first to break the rule.
This year’s theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Reawakened,” and Hemsworth made his Met Gala debut with his wife, Elsa Pataky.
He wore a three-piece cream Tom Ford suit, while Quick X the actress, 47, wore a long-sleeved gold dress, complete with a crown, by the same designer.

Despite his fame, Hemsworth said Hey! News that he and Pataky are still excited about events like Met.
“My wife and I, we live in Australia,” he said. “So any big awards show, we’re not tired of it because it’s still new and exciting. And especially this, eclectic group of people, different from the normal crowd, you know, the movie awards show that we do … sports people, musicians, artists, so we had a really fun night.”

Ahead of last week’s Met Gala, Hemsworth and Pataky made it a family affair when their twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 10, made a rare public appearance for their father’s Australian premiere of his new film Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga May 1st.
The family of four posed for photos on the red carpet with the siblings and Pataky in black, and the Avengers star in a checkered gray suit and black satin shirt.

He and his wife also have a daughter, India Rose (11).
A month earlier, Hemsworth visited Gulin Gulin — a remote Australian community in the Northern Territory where he previously lived as a child with his family.
He shared the good photos on social media with a recap on Instagram.
“Some of my earliest and happiest memories are from that time. Now, 35 years later, I was lucky enough to go back there,” he wrote in the caption of his carousel.

The photos show Hemsworth smiling as he poses with locals who were dressed in traditional costumes.
One image on the slide was a hand-drawn portrait of him as his character Thor – clearly visible with the hammer that hurled him into the sky. “Welcome home,” the illustration read.
“I cannot be more grateful to the people of Gulin Gulin for welcoming us with such warmth and kindness. Much love and gratitude ❤️,” Hemsworth concluded.
