Christopher Roma was an experienced hiker whose body was found on January 18, 2024, after failing to brave the elements during a day hike in New Hampshire. He ran his own tour guide company. He was found dead in the White Mountains of New Hampshire last week. He was hiking alone and called 911 saying he was very cold. The rescuers were unable to reach him due to snow up to his waist, strong wind and low temperature. A rescue team pulled him out by helicopter on Mount Guyot. Christopher Roma has completed three of America’s longest trails and wrote, “I knew then that I needed to show others the beautiful country we have right here in our own backyards and give them the opportunity to transform themselves like I have in the last 5 years.” Christopher is survived by his 2-year-old son.

For 37 years, Christopher Roma was a mountaineer who loved adventure and nature. He passed away on January 17, 2024. Christopher Roma graduated from the Institute of Motorcycle Mechanics in 2007. He worked as a mechanic for several years. Because of his dream of hiking the “Triple Crown” trails, he began his journey in 2010 by hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile trail from Mexico to Canada. This process ended with him in 5 months. He explained his journey including his overcoming of challenges on his blog by attaching photos and videos. His second attempt “The Continental Divide Trail” was completed in 2013 in 6 months facing obstacles such as rough terrain, wild animals and unpredictable weather. The second trail is a roughly 3,100-mile trail that follows the Rockies from Mexico to Canada.
