Claim to Fame Stars Hud and Mackenzie Confirm They're 'Hanging Out' After Season 3 Fling (Exclusive)

Hud and Mackenzie may not have won Claim to famebut I can thank the show for my blossoming romance.

After a dramatic challenge earlier in the episode that sent Adam to the ER, the speculation heats up even more as Mackenzie and Hud find themselves in the hot seat.

After winning the previous challenge, the power was in Adam’s hands as he chose himself as the guesser, correctly guessing Mackenzie’s cousin as her father Trace Adkins and Hud’s cousin as his father John Mellencamp.

As a result, Adam was crowned the winner of Season 3 Claim to fameeventually revealing his famous cousin as his uncle Michael Bolton.

Although Hud and Mackenzie admit they wished things had gone differently for them, Hud notes that he was happy to be in the bottom two with Adam after working with him all season.

“I can only be happy for him,” he says. “He went through so much just to get injured that day. It’s a nightmare situation to get kicked out if you’re injured, so at one point we thought he was going home just because he put in the effort, and being injured stinks like that. That’s the worst way to go out. So I’m very happy for him, but at the same time I wanted to win.”

Mackenzie adds that she felt very successful getting into guessing, especially knowing that she followed her father’s advice. “My dad told me before I left, just be in all the episodes,” he jokes. “I played a good game.”

Aside from all the chaos of Adam’s injury and final guess, the season finale also saw sparks fly between Mackenzie and Hud as they put their flirtatious relationship on display during a montage set to Season 1 runner-up Logan Crosby’s song “The Girl Next Door.” Although Mackenzie teased that their romance is “all for the game”, she joked that this could change once the show ends.

So what exactly is the state of their relationship now? Although Mackenzie and Hud are tight-lipped about their official relationship status, they confirm that they have seen each other a few times since filming ended.

“We’re just hanging out and seeing what happens,” Hud teases. “He visited me a few times in Nashville,” adds Mackenzie. “I visited him. Yes, it’s going well.”

Mackenzie notes that it’s been amazing to connect with Huda and her cast mates because they share similar life experiences. “That was one of the things I was so excited about because I thought these people were just going to get me,” she says. “Especially Hud, because both of us, that’s our dad, and we’re both musicians. It’s just very similar. It was amazing, so much fun meeting everyone.”

In fact, both their families will gather at Claim to fame season 3 finale viewing party at Mackenzie’s house. “My dad is actually flying to Nashville tomorrow just so we can all watch the finals together. We’re having a little party, Mackenzie brought it all together,” Hud says, adding that his dad is convinced he won the show. “I didn’t tell him anything, and he’s furious.”

“My dad did the exact same thing,” adds Mackenzie. “He is convinced that I won. He said: ‘All these people wouldn’t have come to you if you hadn’t won. No way.’ He says, ‘Hud is coming down with his dad. you won Easy.'”

In addition to bringing their families together, the party will also bring theirs together Claim to fame family together, including season 3 contestants and stars from earlier seasons.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” says Mackenzie. “I’m excited. A lot of them haven’t been to Nashville, so I’m going to give up the full Nashville experience.”

While Mackenzie hosts, Hud brings refreshments with his new whiskey Mellencamp. “I have my whiskey coming out in the next month or two, so I have my unreleased whiskey that I’m bringing,” he adds. “All our drinks should be made with it. It will be fun.”
