Abdul Shokoor Ezedi is now being hunted by police, who have urged the public not to confront him and instead call 999 immediately.

A new photo of Ezedi shows him with horrific facial injuries moments after the horror.

He was seen in Tesco in north London, where he is believed to have bought a bottle of water.

It shows the right side of his face melted and bloody as he calmly shops in a blue T-shirt and black hoodie.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron said: “We are now releasing an image of the last known sighting of Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, which was on Caledonian Road, N1 at 8.48pm on Thursday.

“The picture was taken from a Tesco store, where Ezedi is believed to have bought a bottle of water. He left the store and turned right.

“The picture shows Ezedi with what appears to be significant injuries to the right side of his face. That makes it special.

“If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately. He should NOT be approached.”

It comes after it was revealed tonight that the 35-year-old is a former asylum seeker convicted of sexual assault.

Ezedi was convicted of a sexual offense at Newcastle Crown Court in 2018.

A source told the Mirror he was given a suspended sentence for “sexual assault/exposure” with an unpaid work order.

It is understood that this was completed in 2020, when Ezedi was released from probation.

Police today confirmed that 12 people were injured in the attack – including a 31-year-old mother and her three- and eight-year-old daughters.

Neither of their conditions are believed to be life-threatening, although the injuries to the mum and her youngest child could be “life-changing”.

Three women between the ages of 30 and 50 who heroically came to the family’s aid were also injured.

A man in his 50s suffered minor injuries when he also jumped in, along with five police officers who rushed to the scene.

Although it was previously believed to be an acid attack, police have confirmed that an alkaline corrosive substance was used.

Officers previously confirmed they were called to the scene following reports a child had been “thrown to the ground” before a substance was thrown at the family.

The suspect attempted to flee in a car, but left on foot after crashing into a parked vehicle.

It came after chilling footage showed the suspect running around a car and jumping in – before appearing to drive into the person standing in front of him.

‘I don’t see, I don’t see’

Mum-of-three Shannon Christie, who lives in a block of flats at the end of the road, said: “I saw the little girl thrown to the floor.

“At that moment I ran up and grabbed her from the floor. I heard her mom yelling ‘I can’t see, I can’t see’. So I called my partner to get some water.

“The staff at the hospital then came and poured water on her.”

Another witness added: “It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

“She was screaming, ‘My eyes! My eyes!’ Her skin looked burnt.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 with the reference CAD 7790/January 31.
