One of Jacob Bertrand’s greatest joys at Cobra Kai was working with his girlfriend, Peyton List.
Speaking with PEOPLE about the martial arts show’s sixth and final season, the 24-year-old actor reflects on what it was like filming with his partner after his relationship with Liszt turned romantic on set Cobra Kai.
“It was great,” he shares. “Peyton and I worked together a long time ago on this Disney movie called Replacement (2016), and she was really cool and I had fun filming with her. And when you wrap something up like that, I don’t think I’ve ever worked with the same person twice except for her.”

Although Bertrand had “fun” working with her, he thought to himself that he would “never see that girl again” until List applied to Cobra Kai.
“It was so much fun getting to the second season [work with her],” he says. “That’s most of the time I was shooting with her, the second and third seasons. I mean, she was so much fun to hang out with. She’s one of my best friends.”
“It was great. It was such a blessing,” he adds.

Bertrand, starring Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz Cobra Kaiand List, who plays Tori Nichols, first confirmed their relationship in March 2022.
We’ve been dating for a while, Bertrand told TMZ at the time. “I’ve never dated anyone I’ve worked with before. This is almost a trial by fire.”
“We have been friends for some time,” he added. “I met her when I was about 15. I was actually close friends with her brother Spencer, so it was kind of awkward to say, ‘Hey man, I like your sister.’ But yeah, we had fun on set and then we hung out off set.”
When asked if it was a difficult decision to start a relationship with someone she works with, List jokingly replied: “I guess yes. And then think about the consequences later!”

Cobra Kai Season 6: All about the final season of the Netflix series
Cobra Kai premiered in 2018, and will conclude with its sixth and final season in three parts. The first was launched on Netflix on July 18, while the second will be released on November 15. The final part of the comedy-drama will arrive in 2025.
According to the official description, Season 6 begins “with Cobra Kai being eliminated from the Valley,” and the Miyagi-Do Karate dojo sensei and students deciding “whether and how to compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world karate championship.”
In addition to Bertrand and List, the series stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Hengeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, John Kreese and others.
