The Bel-Air actress spoke to ET about her rise to prominence after launching her career on the Disney Channel during her red carpet chat ahead of the festivities Sunday night. Although the Disney Channel movie Let It Shine was a hit and gave the 25-year-old a big break as a teen actress, the star’s career didn’t take off as she had hoped.
During a YouTube livestream that became popular with his fans in September 2020, Jones spoke candidly about the sequel’s originally planned cancellation, lamenting that despite his considerable skill, he didn’t have the same support as other Disney Channel stars.
The singer, however, noticed a difference in perspective after appearing on Terrell Grice’s online YouTube series The Terrell Show in 2021.
