About Harnaaz Sandhu

Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was crowned as the 70th Miss Universe on December 12, 2021, beating contestants from 80 countries. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration and was crowned by her predecessor, Andrea Meza from Mexico, who won the title of Miss Universe 2020.

Paraguayan Nadia Ferreira finished second, and Lalela Mswane from South Africa finished third. The last question that was asked of Ms. Sandhu was what advice would she give to young women on how to deal with the pressures they face today.

She replied: “The biggest pressure facing today’s youth is to believe in themselves, to know that you are unique and that is what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourself to others and let’s talk about the more important things going on in the world .”

“That’s what you need to understand. Come out, speak for yourself because you are the leader of your life, you are your own voice. I believed in myself and that’s why I’m standing here today.”

She started her journey on the world stage when she won the Times Fresh Face 2017. She represented Chandigarh at the age of 17. She also won the LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021 title.
