The men’s national football team in India is all set to return with full force in the September FIFA international window. The team travels to Thailand for the 2023 King’s Cup.

The Blue Tigers won three international trophies this year. The first was the Tri-Nations Series in the month of March. The most recent was the SAFF Championship in Bengaluru in the month of July. Their FIFA ranking has risen due to continuous wins this year. After five years, the team broke into the top 100.

While the team is all happy, the King’s Cup will be a big challenge for the team. The Football Association of Thailand organizes a football tournament. The tournament was played for the first time in 1986. Since then, the tournament has been played every year, except for a few years such as 2020, 2014, 2011, 2008, 1985 and 1983. In this year, i.e. 2023, the King’s Cup is the 49th edition of the tournament.

King’s Cup 2023, played in Thailand. Host Thailand will be part of all editions of the tournament. The King’s Cup 2023 matches will be played at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The King’s Cup has always been an invitational tournament. Most of the teams are from Asia. However, in some cases the teams were from both Africa and Europe. Four teams will compete in the current edition. The teams are from Lebanon, Thailand, Iraq and India.
